Hi everyone, I hope you’ve been having a good June so far.

I’ve been busy with my other career in romance writing, and have the release of my 5th book, Summer Strawberries at Swallowtail Bay under my real name Katie Ginger, in two day’s time! How can that be? It’s come around very, very quickly!

But on the cozy mystery front, I’ve been going through another self-edit on book 2. I like to throw in lots of historical details and with the Sleuthing Club, there’s a lot to do tying in the detectives and novels they read with the mystery itself. The Sleuthing Club has to feel like a character in itself so there’s always a lot of reading to do. I like to have a certain amount of mirroring and have my protagonist learning from the great golden age detectives as she goes. It’s good fun but means there’s a lot of layers to add in!

It won’t be long though and I’ll be able to get this off to my editor and begin plotting book 3. I’m hoping to crack out a rough first draft of that one in November, as part of NaNoWriMo.

Don’t forget you can pre-order Death Remembered, the first book in the Sleuthing Club Mystery series now (https://amzn.to/2LnXba7) and it’s publication day on 16th July!

So that’s an update on the novel in progress. How are your WIP’s going? Are you making headway or is the current situation slowing you down?

Remember, even if you’ve made no progress at all, it doesn’t matter. There’s always time to make a fresh start and we need to be kind to ourselves!
